This is Katie. She and Aphrodite are sisters. Also my mother is her godmother. She is in the last year of her bachelor degree in nursing [actually she has to give three more exams for taking her degree].
Anyway, in Christmas I had a really interesting conversation with her. One of my all time favourites questions for people who work/study in medicine or nursing or generally for people who deal with people in need is “What was the most extreme thing you have ever seen in a hospital?” Every time the anwer is different. She told me that she had seen a girl after an accident with her chest damaged literally, there was no skin, no breasts, her bones in the lacks were cut off and the only thing that you could see was her open lacks. After that she told me that this kind of damage can’t be healed quickly. Even with plastic surgeries.
But then she also told me that she had seen more extreme and painful things in the psychiatric hospital.”Then in psychiatric hospital I understood one thing, that the mind is a really powerful wapon. For us taking a dish from the living room to the kitcken is the easest thing in the world but for them is the hardest. That means that such an “easy” move like this is a really hard one for our brain.” Katie feed my thoughts yesterday. I was just thinking and thinking after she left how beautiful life I have than these people and how “little” I live it. That’s it. That’s my goal for this year. To live my life more, and when I say more I mean every second. Thank you Katie.
